💪Flexible Mapping

The flexible Custom Relationships feature allows you to define how campaigns across different data sources should be mapped. This is useful when campaign names differ due to UTM parameters, suffixes,

Options:

  • Exact Mapping: Campaign names must match exactly, including upper/lower case.

  • Flexible Mapping: Campaign names can match if they are similar (e.g., “SummerCampaign” → “SummerCampaign 2024”). Case sensitivity can be toggled on or off.

Example:

  • Google Analytics campaign: SummerCampaign

  • Facebook Ads campaign: SummerCampaign_2024

  • With flexible mapping enabled, these campaigns will be grouped together.

Within flexible mapping, you can also decide whether upper and lower case should be considered during matching:

  • Case-sensitive: SummerCampaignsummercampaign

  • Case-insensitive: SummerCampaign = summercampaign

Usage:

To apply a Custom Relationship in your View, navigate to your view and select: Group By → Custom Mapping. The mapping will then be applied to your visualization.
